Freiburg Therapy offers telehealth sessions to meet the modern needs of today’s woman. If you know you are feeling more stressed than usual and need extra support, but the thought of having another appointment in your day creates some panic, then online therapy may be your solution. Telehealth goes by many names, including e-therapy, online counseling and teletherapy. All telehealth services are conducted via a HIPAA compliant platform, but the format is similar to Skype or FaceTime.

The choice to provide online therapy in San Diego was intentional (and pre-pandemic). If you find yourself hesitating when considering using telehealth as a therapy office here are some of the reasons why teletherapy may be a good option for you:

Freiburg Therapy is committed to providing exceptional care in whatever capacity is most comfortable for you. More and more, feedback was received that time was tight and you had to cancel for various reasons — difficulty with childcare, moving, traffic conditions, working late. Whatever reason was perfectly valid but interfered with progess… and you knew it. By shifting the therapy office to the home environment, it made therapy portable, accessible, and comfortable. In turn, they often reported feeling more at ease, less stressed, and were more likely to open up. AND did you know research studies have shown online therapy is just as effective as in person therapy!

Tips For A Great Online Session

  • Use strong wifi or an ethernet connection
  • Make sure to have the newest version of your internet browser (Google Chrome preferable)
  • Close any open browser tabs or apps not in use
  • Adjust lighting so you are facing towards the light (it helps to be able to see your face)
  • Reduce background noise and be in a private space 
  • Things to have handy: earbuds, tissue, glass of water, a cozy blanket, pen and paper

Location of Online Counseling

As long as you are a resident of California, Florida, Idaho or South Carolina and are currently in state, you can receive therapy services online at Freiburg Therapy. Telehealth sessions are conducted via a HIPAA compliant platform where you will be sent a personal login link. Services can be conducted via desktop, laptop, tablet, or even your mobile device.

* Despite the many benefits of utilizing telehealth, there are certain situations when online therapy may not be appropriate. This may include complex mental health diagnoses, poor Internet connection or having a lack of privacy.
